Monday 20th Feb was the 4th Jump Off of 2012 that saw all the raining champs from the 3rd event hold on to their acclaim. We was blessed with another credible judging panel consisting of Jonzi D, Cookie Pryce and Nick Bright who kindly stepped up as Adam Deacon unfortunately couldn’t make it. In the crowd this week we spotted Ny, English Frank, Logic, Little Dee, Manga, J2k, Flow Dan, Frisco, Black The Ripper, Mega (S.A.S), Championship footballer Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and legendary Hip Hop producer The Alchemist.

This weeks clothes for the models were supplied by Dat Tag, and the 'props' this week were mini ottomans and the infamous speaker! Ellody was back for a 2nd week with two hot new challengers. If she wins the online vote again, she'll be 3 wins away from £1000.
  COMEDIAN

Travis Jay

Comedian Travis Jay put in a hilarious 7 minute set based on real life experiences such as ‘The swag barber’s seat’ and the ‘dumbest black person always interviewed on the news’. He left the crowd in stitches and the tough Jump Off crowd really took towards him as he done a fantastic job of starting the show.

  CREW DANCE BATTLE
CHAMPS(4wins)

Prototype

A-Pex

Champions Prototype were up against the young and vibrant street dance crew A-Pex. Although A-Pex pulled out some great moments with flips from the youngest member of the crew as well as the red wig gimmick aimed at the red headed female member of Prototype the contest was put to bed as Prototype gave us yet another incredible regime to hold on to their championship acclaim for the 4th consecutive week. All 3 judges, the crowd and Dj/Host voted for Prototype to give them their 4th win putting them just 1 win away from the £1000 and a place in the Finals. After the battle Malcolm of Prototype came to the stage and called out Unity after their comments towards the crew on Facebook got out of hand. Prototype said “they don’t do Internet battling, so will battle you at The Jump Off” in their on-stage rant where they’ve offered to battle Unity at the next event.

  PRODUCER BATTLE
CHAMP(2wins)

Jay Inkz

Shokey

After Jay Inkz took the champ spot last time out, it was the job of new challenger Shokey to spoil the new champs winning run. After the sad loss of Whitney Houston recently, it was only right we celebrated her talent by getting the producer’s to create a beat from a range of her vocal samples. Shokey came to the stage and used just one vocal sample and then built the beat around it. Jay Inkz used the samples as hits giving his beat a real jumpy vibe adding a real skippy drum pattern. Both producers did their thing but Shokey was unable to knock Jay Inkz off his perch as the votes went Inkz way 5-0.

  MC BATTLE
CHAMP(2wins)

Innuendo

Hyperaptive

Keon

Lefty

Prince Kong

ALL THE OTHER ROUNDS

Keon, Hyperaptive, LnC, Lefty
Prince Kong, Panorama

Hyperaptive vs Prince Kong (5-0)
The 1st semi saw Hyperaptive step up against Prince Kong, and although the levels weren't great the highlight was when a crowd member shouted out to Hyperative “you’re s**t” and he came back with “a member of the crowd just called me s**t, well at least I’m up here on stage and I’m not a tit” which the crowd warmed to.

LNC vs Keon vs Panorama (Keon - Crowd Vote)
The 30 second, 3 way battle took place as their was one available spot left for the chance to battle in the second semi final. Keon got the crowds vote as he went in on LNC and Panorama for his spot in the 2nd semi final against Lefty.

Keon vs Lefty (5-0)
Keon came into the battle having impressed the crowd in the preliminary three way round but was unable to live up to the heights as this was yet another disappointing battle. The memorable bar “you look like a budget Wiz Khalifa” was the only highlight really from Keon, but was enough to defeat Lefty who didn’t bring much at all.

Keon vs Hyperaptive (Tie)
By this point Rap6 was echoing everyone’s opinion that the MC’s needed to step up to the plate. After a repetition of disappointing battles it was a shame that this final battle didn't live up to everyone’s expectations. Before Keon and Hyperaptive had even finished the battle or the judges had a chance to cast their votes, Innuendo had something to say.

Innuendo vs Keon/Hyperaptive (Innuendo)
Champ Innuendo came to the stage pushing past everyone in the gang way on some WWE flex, he grabbed the mic and owned the stage. He didn’t even wait for his title battle contender as he the apologised to the crowd saying “I’d like to say sorry for putting up with that last 30 minutes”. Before he even spat a bar the crowd were on his side as he went in on both MC’s for two rounds. After being publicly humiliated, Keon and Hyperaptive had a round each to come back but they were fighting a losing battle. The decision had been made already, it was a rap and the panel was not needed for their judgement.
