Rihanna Cancels Tour Dates Due to Low Ticket Sales

Rihanna is allegedly on the brink of axing a series of dates on her LOUD US tour due to poor ticket sales. According to the New York Post's Page Six, the S&M singer is struggling to sell tickets for a number of shows across the States - leaving RiRi considering drastic action. A source told the publication: "The ticket sales in big US cities such as Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs."

It is thought that ticket sales for the 23-year old's Boston TD Garden Arena show are currently at an embarrassing 3,700, with insiders claiming she's been told she must flog 15,000 tickets to break even. They added: "Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways. She should’ve been doing theatres and smaller venues. She’s not ready to headline an arena tour."

RiRi's disappointing ticket sales have come as a surprise, especially after man of the moment Cee-Lo Green signed up to support the Rude Boy star on the tour. Rihanna has around three months to boost ticket sales before the opening night of the tour in Baltimore on 4th June, or she may be forced to scrap some of the shows. The current situation is reminiscent to the Barbadian beauty's Last Girl On Earth 2010 Tour, where she had to axe a number of shows in Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Denver and Indianapolis after not shifting enough tickets.
