Rapper Eyedea, real name Micheal Larsen, apparently died in his sleep yesterday (Sunday 17 October 2010) aged just 28 years old. Nothing official has been released yet about the cause of his untimely death, only that he was found in the morning by his mother. The sad news was announced via his mother Kathy Averill through Eyedea's twitter account:

"It is with great pain and sadness that I tell you my son Mikey (Eyedea) has passed away. At this time we kindly request you respect our privacy as we process this devastating loss."

Known originally for his battle victories at Scribble Jam and then on Blaze Battle Eyedea had continued with Dj Abilities to build a strong following making music. Messages of condolences have been pouring in to his Twitter, Facebook fanpage and his YouTube videos. His label Rhymesayers also announced:

"Please Respect the wishes of the family, we will pass on more information at a later date."
